Insulation Facing Description

Foil faced vapor barrier is laminated 5 layers of structure, the outer layer is aluminum foil and kraft paper. The middle layer is the glass fiber layer double side coated with adhesive, it increased tensile strength of Foil-Scrim-Kraft, and the aluminum foil and kraft paper are firmly bonded.

Aluminum foil acts as a radiant barrier, reflecting heat back into the building or out of it, depending on the season. This helps maintain a consistent temperature, reducing energy costs. The 3-way scrim provides added strength and durability, preventing tearing and punctures. The 80gsm Kraft Paper Backing acts as a vapor barrier, preventing moisture from entering the insulation and causing damage. It also contributes to the overall aesthetic of the insulation material when left exposed in applications such as basements or industrial buildings.

The foil facing of the insulation also provides reflective properties, which can help improve the insulation's thermal performance by reflecting radiant heat. While durable, the material is also flexible enough to be easily cut and fitted into irregular spaces, such as around corners and between beams. FSK facing often has certain fire-resistant properties, making it safer for use in various building applications.

Foil-faced insulation vapor barriers are commonly used in walls, roofs, floors, and HVAC systems to provide thermal insulation and moisture control. They are suitable for both residential and commercial buildings. Foil faced vapor barrier is most commonly used to exposed surfaces of Duct wrap, HVAC Ductwork, Exterior wall insulation, Metal building insulation, Pipeline insulation, Hot water tank insulation.
